I was ashamed of my skin: the acne scars that reminded me of my classic brown girl adolescence (read: acne, bushy eyebrows, mustache, and more), the patchy skin tone, the dullness, the crow’s feet that started creeping its way to the surface of my skin at age 30. I just covered my natural beauty and face with makeup and I only ever went bare-faced at home when nobody could see me.
That changed when I discovered clean beauty. I discovered the power of a clean beauty routine. Nothing complicated, but a commitment to 5 minutes a day has transformed my skin health. Yes, skin health. It’s a thing. Your skin is a direct reflection of your health. It requires self-care, a nourishing diet, and clean products to improve your skin health. And that’s exactly what I’ve done over the past few years. I drink lots of water, stick to a diet that works for my body focusing on whole, unprocessed foods, and invest just five minutes a day to care for my skin morning and night.
